I first met Paulie back in 2015. I was in his original class as he took over the commercial skydiving school. From the set piece, Paulie had a straight forward no nonsense approach to teaching. The job of taking a group of young naive kids and teaching them to skydive would challenge the toughest person. Paulie not only taught us how to skydive. Our lessons went much deeper, and by the end of it we walked out with a fundamental set of morals that could be applied to any aspect of our lives.
Learning to skydive, I was very much a cautious, low confident type guy. I was always the one hiding. From a spectators point of view it would have seemed that I would not go far in this line of work. I strongly believe that if it weren’t for Paulie’s help, I wouldn’t have. He was able to understand how I operate and tailored a teaching method that I was able to understand and grow. He didn’t just leave me behind. I’ve seen him do this with many students, in various ways.
After leaving the school, I went on to one of the busiest drop zones in the world where I was able to apply those morals. In 4 short years, I was able to go from thinking I’d never make it in this industry, to being the head tandem master with a number of staff under my leadership. I put this down to applying those key morals he taught me.
I’ve found that I’ve been able to apply Paulie’s teachings in other aspects of my life, following the same morals with similar success. This is just my own experience with Paulie, and I’m certain that there are 100’s of others with similar experiences with him.

Between January and September of 2018, I was coached by Paul Jeune at the NZ Skydiving School.
Having just completed a similar programme with a seperate skydiving company, I was pretty blown away with the high level and standard Paul taught at.
He had a crazy amount of knowledge and a passion for coaching far beyond what I previously had.
Throughout the various areas of our training, he gave detailed and in-depth coaching and made sure each student's different learning abilities were catered to.
As we approached the end of the course he went out of his way to share different leadership skills and qualities to take with us, goals to work on, and different positives & negatives to expect throughout our career, a lot of which I have been able to transfer into my life outside of skydiving.
Compared to a lot of the coaching I've had, whether it's sporting, scuba diving, carpentry apprenticeship, or schooling, Paul is a massive standout.
Cheers Pauly !!

While I have had many teachers, guardians and boss figures throughout my life. There are very few of those people that I can consider a mentor or a true leader.
Paul Jeune is definitely one of those people. During my time training with him at the Skydiving School, he managed to get 2groups of vastly different individuals, to all strive for greatness.
When on the course I held a close relationship with Paulie, and would often a number of times find myself back after class, asking for help in all areas far and beyond skydiving. Paulie would listen and help you dissect what you were thinking, and always help guide you to the same outcome, bettering yourself.
Looking back, my time working with Paul ended up setting me up with the correct tools to take on any challenge in life, and I walked away with much more than just knowing how to jump from a plane.

I attended the New Zealand Skydiving School on the course of January 2016.
Paul Jeune was the course director.
Personally, I struggled during this course. My physical ability was poor and I required much attention. Paul was extremely supportive and guided me through the most difficult parts. Due to his mentoring, I was able to harness the underlying causes of my poor ability and take control of them. I found that the biggest battle was a mental battle. Paul truly understood this and his support and intervention was key in helping me to succeed in skydiving. During the course I went through a huge transformation; I learnt a lot about myself and my own capabilities, the power of my own mind and how to overcome and persevere
Through difficult times. Paul was professional at all times; he knew exactly when to nurture and when to be tough. Without his coaching, I would not have gained the confidence to continue to challenge myself.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Paul for the past two years and can hands down say that he has been the most influential person I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in my life. He turned my greatest fear into one of my greatest accomplishments, I was absolutely terrified of public speaking and without his encouragement and belief in me I wouldn’t be standing up in front of a class teaching today. He gave me the confidence and taught me great leadership skills. His calm and encouraging approach to any situation pushed me to be the best version of myself. He can teach a whole room fill of individuals at all different learning abilities using different techniques to get the same result, he has taught me the same teaching techniques to cater to different people which work in measurable ways. I highly recommend Paul in any aspect, he always has time for you and goes above and beyond to help without a second thought. Absolute legend of a mentor!

Shits definitely been put into perspective the last few months. Bro I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from your mindset on all this. Its been far more useful than any skydiving skill. Its put me in the position I'm in now. Surrounded by completely badass instructors who are down to make me better. Paul epitomises the concept of extreme ownership, in business and leadership situations, family life and friendship. He lives by his values and strives every day to hold the people around him accountable to the goals they've set to improve their lives. Paul has played a huge part in my life by not only helping me on the journey to be the best I can be physically but also mentally. From barely being able to get out of bed from back pain to working out at dawn 5 days a week - he's shown patience, discipline, inspiration. Paul is the real deal.
